Nicholas Lockyer is a collage artist who explores themes of death, spiritualism, primitivism, popular culture, and trash cinema in his works. Armed with a stock of vintage illustrations/prints, scissors, X-acto knives, glue, and some paint, Lockyer is just as content as a kid in a candy store.

Alexander Korzer-Robinson creates amazing book sculptures that take the traditional collage experience into another realm and deconstructs nostalgia while simultaneously creating nostalgia through introspection by using only the images found in each book.  Does that make sense? Behold the glorious return of Philadelphia based illustrator Chris Murray! His creative work was first featured on July 8, 2012 and has come a long way not only in technique but in unadulterated imagination.

Matthew Cusick is an American artist we featured back in 2011, who creates vast, intricate pieces out of ordinary maps and washes of ink. Meticulous, careful and yet incredibly fluid, thunderous even, his latest pieces are something else.

Kathryn Macnaughton is an illustrator who was previously featured back in January 2011. Currently based out of Toronto, Canada, we bring Macnaughton back for a second look at her work since last year. A little bit of illustration, a little bit of mixed media collage, all good.

Chilean artist Fab Ciraolo was featured on  September 2011 for his brilliant series of vintage super heroes. He returns to EK with a fleet of icons and all the ironic hilarity that I loved about him the first time around.

Joram Roukes was first featured in 2010, but revisited because of how awesome he is in 2011.  Besides being a fantastic artist the man is smart as hell.  His responses are present and honest and refreshing.  Worth a read?  Shoot, it's worth three.

Ever since I saw  Koralie and husband Supakitch on EK on November of last year, I've been wanting to do a post about them individually, so here goes! Though their work blends incredibly in a fluke of genius brought by street art super powers, Koralie's work stands alone with pure individual style. Her signature "doll" illustrations appear throughout her work, she blends a variety of different patterns, textures and various cultural influences that make each piece an intricate evolution from the last.

Daniele Buetti is a Swiss artist who creates surreal installations, from the kaleidoscopic to the grotesquely illuminated.

"Misunderstanding Focus" is a portrait series executed by the artistic collective known as Nerhol. The clever Japanese duo that makes up this brainstorm of creativity are Yoshihisa Tanaka and Ryuta Iida. Their work, when looked at carefully, is an elaborate testament of our always aging, constantly moving, ever changing bodies.

Collage art has been really popular within the past few years and it's not common to see collage artists with a minimal approach. Francisca Pageo does this with a clean, graceful manner. Majority of her work has a intermixing theme of nature and fashion.

Keun Young Park's collages are haunting.  The feel like pictures taken from the afterlife and faxed via CasperGram to the present.  The negative space creates a quite subtext that is both eerie and soothing.  Check out her interview:

Monika Traikov is a graphic designer currenlty based out of Toronto, Canada. Traikov primarily uses vintage and aged photographs to create her collage/graphic design pieces.

Raintree1969 is a collage artist currently based out of Taipei, Taiwan...peculiar collage work if I do say so myself.

In lieu of the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London, UK, we present Jens Ullrich, an artist who is currently based out of both Düsseldorf and Berlin, Germany, who creates collage pieces juxtaposing some of the world's elite athletes with classic Greek sculptures and statues.

Street archaeology meets experimental destruction. Fucking incredible. Alexandre Farto aka Vhils is a Portuguese graffiti/street artist who lives and works in London and Lisbon. This kid is a gem. His expertise is destroying things to make them beautiful. He truly is a creative soul. I wish you the very best Vhils, you're one of my favorite street artists in the world.

Joshua Hagler, previously featured here is a really cool dude, a gentleman of the highest order, and he is really really really patient, because this interview was owed to him a long time ago, and he was really nice about it the whole time.  I'm sorry Josh, but we do love your work and will be totally promoting it as you go on!

Pablo Milicua is a fine artist that works with many mediums, but what makes this artist so unique is the surreal landscape collages he delivers as a whole. Using familiar elements with the unrecognizable, Pablo questions the grand epic illusion of reality.

Denimu (Ian Berry) is an artist hailing from Huddersfield, UK who has a kind of obsession with denim...especially since he changed his artist name to Denimu! Having developed a tactile enthusiasm for the fabric after finding a pile of unwanted jeans about to be donated, Denimu creates collage pieces using multiple strips of denim jeans.

Vik Muniz tears, blends and forms images out of magazines by replicating iconic famous paintings. The Brazilian artist entitles his series 'Pictures of Magazines 2' based on artists such as Edouard Manet, Vincent Van Gogh, Paul Cezanne and other fore-fathers of art. Simply Brilliant.
