2012 was an unpredictable, fast, scary, wild, and beautiful year in many ways. While the media want to talk about the Mayans and debate the end of the world, to tell you the truth none of that matters. Because every day is somebody's last day on earth. Every day people lose loved ones who mean the world to them. While we would love nothing more to speak only of the beautiful wonderful possibilities of the new year, 2012 was sobering in many respects and it would not be honest to ignore some of the incredible human tragedies of the year.

Ever since I saw him on EK on November 2010, I've wanted to emulate my comic book style to his work but his is an untouchable brand of terrific!

Superbly creative and down to the bare minimum are the works from Moxy Creative House. They were featured back in November 2010 and are still killing it with simplistic designs. Amazing how even the most basic of symbols, can unite us as a collective through nothing more but pop culture references. Plus their taste in movies, not too shabby.

This illustration studio collective from Brazil was first featured on April 23rd 2010. Just as I figured, their psychedelic product definitely hasn’t lost its touch; sexy ladies and rock n’ roll combined with sheer artistic brilliance never go out of style.

A student from MICA in Baltimore Maryland, Kacie Mills shares the EK aspiration of using art to change the world. It may not fix things directly, but Mills is doing her part to entice awareness and inspire activism. At times eclectic, her work combines the retro with the contemporary a juxtaposition that creates visual tension within her pieces. It is her honest hope that her work delights her audience, a fact that makes her a perfect artistic proponent of activism through visual mediums.
