Previously featured back in August 2011, February 2012, and making it on the TOP 100 of 2011, Atelier Olschinsky is definitely no stranger to EK. For those who are unfamiliar, Atelier Olschinsky is a small creative studio based in Vienna, Austria focusing on graphic design, illustration, photography and art direction.
Previously featured back in October 2011, Anthony Neil Dart has been busy since we last saw his work. Dart is a designer (and damn good one) originally hailing from South Africa, however currently, he's based out of Vancouver, BC, Canada.
Montreal-based motion-VFX-filmmaker Patrick Doan (running under the name of Defasten) presents a bulk of his work through geometrical layers of abstract subject matter. Our conversations with the artist helped us reveal how computer graphics become a tool for storytelling and expression. Check out the Q&A interview after the jump!
Pilar Zeta is an artist currently based out of Berlin, Germany who operates a multidisciplinary boutique agency, RAD, that produces everything from graphic design, cover art, product design, poster art, motion graphics, and illustration among other art and design services. Zeta has worked for many clients, such as Ultramajic, Universal Records, Pulse Radio, Fuse Brussels, and Foundry Clothing to list just a few.
Hara Katsiki is a visual artist originally hailing from Greece who expresses her creative vision across various types of media ranging from drawing, painting, graphic design, animation, and music. I encourage everyone to check out her Tumblr page to give her music a listen.
Daria Endresen is a digital artist/photo-manipulator that works out of Oslo, Norway and Paris, France.

The Black Arrow is an artist who creates LP album artwork for upcoming, indie, and established musician and bands, but he also creates music himself. I definitely encourage folks to explore more of BLACK ARROW's visual work on his site, as well as giving a listen to some of the tracks that he creates the art for.
Émilie Léger is an artist and a graphic design student based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Although digital art and writing are her main means of creating, she prioritizes effect, texture and emotion over the medium itself.
Emir Šehanović is an artist hailing from Bosnia-Herzegovina who uses digitally manipulated images and vintage photos in a collage-like format to create these very unique figurative pieces. For his work, Šehanović will use both traditional collage mediums as well as combining digital techniques to achieve the particular look and emotion in his pieces.
Kathryn Macnaughton makes her way back to EK since her last two features back in October 2012 and January 2011. On the glorious Tuesday, let's enjoy some of Macnaughton's collage and graphic design work over a cup of coffee and a splash (or two or three) of whiskey. Cheers.

After shifting through exactly 1470 posts for the entire 2012 calendar year, a dozen pots of coffee made, several holes punched in the drywall during heated deliberations, and several concussions suffered from office supplies hurled at each others' heads, we proudly present the third annual EMPTY KINGDOM TOP 100 Artists of 2012!
Copenhagen-based studio Dark Matters consists of only a handful of multi-talented creatives constantly experimenting with the dual nature of light and shadow. Their endeavors share no analog or digital bias, but rather a mutual hybridization that has allowed them to generate spectacular videos and live visuals. Aslan Malik is an artist currently based out of Berlin, Germany who paints, shoots photography, dabbles in graphic design, creates illustrations...did I forget anything? If you ask me (and not that you are), that's pretty damn impressive. On a side note, only seven more days until the EK TOP 100 of 2012 is announced! Make sure you're wearing double underwear when it comes your way.
