Victoria Goro-Rapoport's beautifully theatrical drawings developed from her years as a set designer.
After graduating from Moscow Art College with a BFA in 1985, she continued on to the University of Utah. There she received a MFA in set design in 1998. That was the start of her life in theatre as a set designer. Working on everything from various dramas to puppet theater, she always found the most enjoyable part was the drawing. As enchanting as a theatrical set can be it has its limitations. Victoria Goro-Rapoport craved a world where the imagination could run wild. She eventually fully delved into drawing and printmaking. Using her strong knowledge of theater technology, and detailed drafting she creates her intricate drawings.
