Well, John Currin combines influences from Renaissance oil paintings to 1950s women’s magazine ads with contemporary sexual politics. Currin combines the beautiful and the weird with equal measure in his depictions of lusty, doe-eyed female figures often portrayed in gross proportions that both enchant and repel.
