New york, New York. It Begins On Paper opened on May 16th, marking the official opening of Catinca Tabacaru Gallery.
The concept behind It Begins With Paper is that art doesn’t just appear out of nowhere, but grows with time. Art can literally begin with just a simple line drawn on a piece of paper. Each piece currently on exhibit in the gallery is a work that grew out of the pureness of paper, matured, and cultivated by the artist’s relationship with paper. From photography to painting to mixed media, all art starts out simple.
Catinca Tabacaru Gallery, located on 250 Broome Street, is currenty displaying works from the group show:
Catinca Tabacaru has been curating and dealing art for four years in a private salon, and with her experience and a carefully selected group of talented artists, they celebrate the gallery’s new home in New York City’s Lower East Side.
The exhibition will be on display through June 15, 2014. If you missed the very vibrant opening night, swing by Tuesday through Sunday and check out the Lower East Side’s newest gem.
