Fan Xiaoyan is a sculptor originally born in Gaomi, China, but now, lives and works in the country’s capital, Beijing.
Xiaoyan describes her work as “the arrival of a new era, a new kind of human being, a new power, a new sensation… a surrealistic virtual world in which men and women are equal”.
Xiaoyan combines soft, warm flesh against cold, hard steel to strike up a deep contrast in her work to engage her viewers on a visual and psychological level.
