Huguette Despault May illustrates highly detailed renderings of knotted and twisted ropes. She was inspired by old pieces of Korean War era ropes, titling the series: “Hawser Series”. Each of her drawings are scaled between 50 to 70 inches in height, weighing at roughly 12 pounds! Metaphorically, she represents the overwhelming feelings of every day tension and frayed nerves.
