James Roper is an artist from the United Kingdom. In much of Roper’s work, he focuses on achieving “peak shift,” which describes the “phenomena of ‘neurological attraction’ that appears in both humans and animals to an extreme characterization of an object,” as elaborated by Roper.
Peak shift has been suggested to be one of the “10 universal laws of art” according to neuroscientist V.S. Ramachandran.
Below are several of Roper’s pieces from two separate series, “Rupture” and “Rapture” (being the latter with the female figures). His “Rapture” series actually take after different pornstars.
