Kim Keever + 200 Gallons

art blog - Kim Keever - empty kingdom

EK challenge of the day: Find an empty 200-gallon fish tank, fill it with a combination of miniatures and natural artifacts, submerge the damn thing in water, carefully set your lighting, then shoot the mother fucker! Chances are, what you end up with is not going to come close to the works of Kim Keever.

Keever composes and executes all of his sets very thoughtfully, and the end results are these wonderful landscape miniatures. Similar to German Romantic painters of the 18th and 19th-Century, Keever treats each set as if working on a painting…sublime and vast.
