Laurent Craste is a sculptor based out of Montreal, Canada. Craste’s process is a very unique one where he transforms the act of destruction as a critical aspect to his creative process.
Craste uses porcelain to create his wonderful ceramic pieces…as well as a machete and baseball bat here and there.
“Ceramics, linked by tradition to crafts, requires a technical knowledge and know-how so restrictive that artists are prompted to remain within canonical forms, never pushing their limits.”
