Marc Sijan is a very talented artist based out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA. Sijan’s sculptural works are life-size and very realistic.
Sijan’s method is a very detailed and methodical process where he first works from live models to produce a negative mold in plaster. He continues by sculpting the interior of the mold with specialized tools and a magnifying glass, then finally, casting the figure in polyester resin. 25 coats of paint and varnish is applied to sculpture in order achieve realistic flesh tones.
“I am seeking to freeze motion rather than suggest life. The sculpture appears passive, but there is so much going on inside.”
