Again, if you find an artist with a Wikipedia page about them, then chances are they’re pretty legit. Originally from Shreveport, Louisiana, Marilyn Minter is definitely one of them.
Minter is a photographer and painter currently based out of New York, USA. Over the years, Minter has received varying reactions and responses to her works as she combines high-fashion and glamor with pornographic undertones. Many have responded to Minter’s work as being an expression of the “victimization and objectification of women, rather than a statement on the absurdity of such images.”
Minter begins her process by staging photoshoots of her subjects using traditional film over digital. She then carries these photographs (which she does not crop nor digitally manipulate in post) into creating hyper-realistic paintings of enamel paint on aluminum.
