Artist Max Ginsburg was originally born in Paris, France, but has lived and worked in New York, USA his whole life. Ginsburg’s work is simply awesome. He evokes the traditional drama, emotion, and depth of story that the classical paintings some of the great predecessors and Old Masters in fine art carried.
Ginsburg’s work captures the world that we live in today with all of the emotional impact and heightened drama with each story, and presents each scene carefully and beautifully rendered. Historically, the works of the Old Masters were used to tell a story, educate the audience if I may, of a particular scene, scenario, setting, or event in time. Classical paintings were seen as being a critical tool in passing down a kind of visual history and document, and Ginsburg keeps that tradition going in his body of work as it deals with certain social and political themes that are familiar to all of us in this day in age.
I just wonder how general audiences will interpret Ginsburg’s work in shaping their understanding of our “world” in 300 years…assuming this planet is still teeming with life.
