Acacia Johnson is a photographer and artist from Alaska. Her photographic process can be described as expeditionary in nature, exploring her profound connection to the landscapes of the Far North in Alaska, Scandinavia, Iceland, and beyond.
Acacia has spent several years living in Norway and has exhibited her work internationally. A recent graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, her work is also included in collections at the Rhode Island School of Design Museum and the Smithsonian Museum of American History. She also works as a seasonal expedition guide and photography lecturer in Greenland and the Canadian Arctic.
Currently, Acacia is on a Fulbright grant in Canada, pursuing a project about the mythic winter landscape of Baffin Island in affiliation with the Ontario College of Art and Design University, and is an artist-in-residence at Artscape Gibraltar Point on Toronto Island. She will be living in the community of Arctic Bay this winter, on the north of Baffin Island in the Canadian Arctic.
Sachin Teng a.k.a. Contraomnes is an illustrator originally from New York currently working in Los Angeles, CA. He was featured back in March 2010. "Art is less a craft than it is a language. Sometimes things get lost in translation, so I spend most of my time finding the artifacts people have left behind."
