Hailing from Russia, photographer Natalya Nova is currently based out of New York, USA. Nova asks, “What is beauty? What is love? What is chaos? What is harmony? I believe that the further we delve into either one of these questions the more room we have left to investigate. I love the idea of unexpected, the idea of an adventure. To me it’s normal to work 24/7 and love every minute of it. To me it doesn’t make sense to work if you are not enjoying the process…

My work has a lot to do with covering one’s identity, which is probably a result of the many experiences I have had dealing with “fake” people, people pretending to be someone they were not. My biggest inspiration came from the surrealist era of artists, going way back to Andre Kertesz and Hans Bellmer, not to mention Salvador Dali and Pablo Picasso. The use of mirrors, distortions, collages and the creation of an “unreal” reality became very dear to me…I believe and always have that true beauty comes from within, that each one of us can overcome the chaos and find the true harmony within ourselves, a harmony which is unique and beautiful.”
