Kim Ki-Duk roars back into the cinema with his 18th feature entitled Pieta // 피에타. An irksome loan shark is reunited with a strange woman claiming to be his long lost mother. From that point on, a strange, controversially violent / sexual relationship ensnares them both into a calamitous drama. Glad to see the South Korean auteur back in form.
Not too much coverage on this film as of yet, but just had to get this off my chest! The film is set to hit the Venice 2012 film festival this coming August, so hopefully I can get some more feedback then. For now enjoy the sample set of images along with the first official trailer down at the bottom of the page (as always, thanks Twitchfilm).
