From animation director extraordinaire Sylvain Chomet (The Triplets of Belleville), comes his latest piece entitled The Illusionist. Chomet’s story revolves around the fading act of performance magic. As the Illusionist continues to take sketchy gigs in order to stay financially stable, he stumbles upon a young girl by the name of Alice who believes that he can actually perform real magic. As she becomes his traveling admirer, the Illusionist cannot bear to tell her the truth, and instead uses his trade to constantly lavish Alice with expensive gifts that burn through his savings. Chomet adapted the screenplay written by the famous Jacques Tati.
