It’s not every day you see a semi-lethal weapon being turned into tool for producing striking art…

But Thom Thom (Thomas Louis Jacques Schmitt), armed with nothing but his own imagination and a Stanley Knife, spends a lot of his time revitalising and artifying (don’t worry guys, I know full well that “artifying” isn’t a word, but hey, life’s too short to be dictated by dictionaries) commercial posters all around the city of Paris, an activity that has landed him in trouble more than once.

When you think of “street art” or “urban art”, a couple of common conceptions always arise. Spray paint and Graffiti art being one of the main methods. Banksy being one of the main artists.

So with these common conceptions of modern “street art”, it’s refreshing to find someone with this exuberant imagination, creating and expressing himself, his beliefs and his ideas through such a unique method.
