To Humanize The Beast

art blog - Beth Cavener Stichter - empty kingdom

I have never seen someone capture human emotion quite like Beth Cavener Stichter. She manages to show expressions such as vulnerability and lust using animal bodies by positioning them strategically to emote like people… brilliant!

I’m sure you’ve seen a ton of humans with animal heads in the art world before. Heck, even I have drawn quite a few myself as an illustrator; but Cavener is working on a whole other level. Her incredible sculptures earned her a feature on EK back in  2010. Along with incorporating new materials and adding more grandeur to her pieces, her work has continually gotten more complex and expressive since.
