art blog - Kevin Llewellyn - empty kingdom

Back in April of 2006, my fellow EK colleagues and I were asked to cover a group art show in our native Bay Area stomping grounds in the city of San Francisco, California. Kevin Llewellyn was one of the many talented artist that showed in the gallery, and in many ways, I’m quite embarassed that EK hasn’t featured him on our site yet. I’m fired.

As an oil painter, Kevin Llewellyn’s skill and talent has been compared by many present-day art critics and curators as a modern day Master, or at least “destined to live in the company of such Masters,” as stated by Dr. Louis A. Zona (The Butler Institute of American Art). The first piece was actually one of the paintings that I viewed in person…dope.
